The memorial was erected to remember those who flew from Bradwell Bay Airfield during WWII. The model Mosquito makes an unusual backdrop.

We remember the days of PO Prune. The chaps on the chairs at dispersal. Different types that were met to counter the threat and the Luftwaffe's final reversal by the pilot's that flew, and were known as the few on those grim stark days of September. What we'll never forget, is our life-long debt to those no longer here to remember.
